That’s what friends are for

30 03 2011

We are here to love each other, serve each other, and uplift each other.  ~Excerp from my Yogi tea yesterday.

Funny that I got this tea (or drank it) the day after helping a friend through some rough times.  Reminds me that no matter how small something may seem to me (or someone else for that matter), it can be a HUGE weight to someone else.  It may take them hearing the same thing a few times (or many) to really put it in perspective, but the key is to be patient, loving, and helping.  You never know when you will be in that situation and need to be told multiple times what to do.  The key is being there enough to make that person strong enough to do what they need to, and that is really what we are here for-companionship and serving each other.

A song to help her (and possible others)

All the way from where?

5 05 2010

I just received my first postcard through www.postcrossing.com!  It came all the way from Taiwan from someone name Lei.  I just wanted to say thank you Lei, how I love getting mail!

Sign up at this website and  you get to create your profile.  For every postcard you send (to random addresses they give you), you will receive one back from another random postcrossing user anywhere in the world.

I am about to send my 4th postcard to Germany-much to say on this one, as I was born there!

Tell me, who does not love getting mail!?!?

Saying goodbye

23 07 2009

Goodbyes are so hard to do.  Maybe it’s because you know most of the people you say goodbye to, most likely you will not see again.  It’s amazing that in less than 2 years I have made some of the most meaningful friendships I’ve ever had.  Arizona houses some very mature and strong females who I am proud to call my friends.  I’ve been through so much during my time here and they have stood strong by my side, given me words of wisdom and encouragment that have lifted me to a better place.

Now I come to a new chapter in my life; tomorrow I drive to Texas to start my new job at the YMCA.  This is a step in life and now a growth in my career as well.  I have to say goodbye to Joey and Molly for two months.  They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, but when you have found that one person that finally makes you feel happy and comforable, its a sad realization and two months seems like forever.  Fortunatley, I will be busy with work and finding a place to live.

texas

I have been put “on assignment” by Jeni Friend to take a picture of the first thing that reminds me of “big texas” or rather “everythings bigger in texas.”  I’m going to have a blast with this one!  I also added an extra of my own, I want to find the first thing that makes me feel like i’m in Texas, feelings of home to me.  I’ll be posting my results, so it should be fun.

Goodbye to this chapter, hello to my new one!

Showing the love

16 02 2009

Good morning and happy presidents day!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I did!  It ended the greatest!  Stay tuned later today/tonight for an updated surprise (might not end up being until tomorrow, but we’ll see).  Here is a hint:

newcar

I worked Friday night but got off around midnight.  Got in my car and this is what I found:

A new steering wheel cover, twizzlers, my favorite iced tea, diet gold peak, and a card from Joey.  Perfect!  Not too valentinesey (flowers, candy, etc-I’m NOT that kind of girl).  He did that while I was at work!  What a doll.  I got to see him for 5 minutes on Valentines day.  I woke up before him to train clients, and had to be at work before he came home at night, but he stopped by to say hi to me at the bar, so yeah, 5 minute valentines day!

One of my clients got my a calla lilly plant.  Purple and gorgeous!  I already potted that baby and put him up by the tv.  I love lillies and its funny b/c I either wanted a plant for valentines day, or a steering wheel cover.  LOL, best of both worlds!

Last night Joey and I ate at one of my favorite places here, Four Peak brewery.  We met my cousin and her “man friend” John.  He is a great person and fun to hang out with.  I’m glad we met him and can’t wait to go up to his house in Flagstaff!  I wanted to have my hefeweisen, but I was so tired, if I had one, I would probably fall asleep.  I got the Grilled Chicken and beer bread…omg, it was awesome !  I could only eat half of it thought and I got a side of pasta salad, I have NEVER had pasta salad so thick, but it was sooo good~  so good that I had to do the tea last night and I’m waiting on the salt water flush to kick in this morning lol!  Told you, that was the one thing I was keeping from my cleanse.  When eating out and over indulging, use the laxative tea and night and salt water flush in the am.  Stay safe, keepin it clean ;)

Check back later!

Sleeping Beauty will feel cleansed soon

29 01 2009

I do not know what the deal is but I have been tired this week.  Last night I slept 9 hours, and I got up and worked out and trained and then came home and crashed for 2 more hours.  I took a nap yesterday too after sleeping 9 hours at night.  My body is hungry for carbs, not craving, hungry.  I HATE THAT!  Maybe its destressing and refueling for life.  I’ve been eating healthy, drinking lots of water, I dont have much caffeine as it is and of course sleeping.  Maybe its my body’s way of fighting off a cold.  Who knows, but starting Monday things will change.

My bf Jeni at Enjoyer of the Journey called me and asked me if I’d like to do a little challenge with her called “The Master Cleanse.”  I bought the book, “Lose weight, have more energy, and be happier in 10 days” by Peter Glickman and read it cover to cover in one day to try to learn what was really going to go down (or come out, in our case).  So this 10 day cleanse will begin on Monday and we will be detoxing our bodies during that time.  I’m sure many of you  know that “gunk’ piles up in your intenstines and colon over the years and your physical and mental health goes down over the years.  Well, we are pushing that all out, detoxing our bodies, and restarting our bodies over again!  We will both be blogging about our experiences so please stay tuned.  Both excited and scared to see what is going to happen but we should feel great a few days in and beyond!  For more info check out The Master Cleanse Web Site.  Some results I hope to achieve with this detox:

1) No longer feeling sluggish or tired

2) No more knee pain without having to take supplements

3) The ability to resist eating so called “bad foods” and making my body crave good things

4) Less daily stress over unimportant things

So stay tuned folks and Monday February 2, 2009, the journey begins!

Head west young girl

My trip to Vegas was awesome.  This is the view from the hotel:

We stayed at the Hooters Hotel and Casino but were hardly ever there.  I think we walked for 12 hours going from Casino to Casino, shopping, picture taking, etc.  I will insert a few I think you will enjoy.  You can walk around and drink here, so I got a dreamsicle margarita, turned out, it was an ENTIRE pitcher I was carrying around!  Viva Las Vegas!  Can’t wait to return!

Next on the tour was the grand canyon west.  The place where they have the skywalk that I DID walk on, it gives you that weird feeling in your stomach!  4,000 ft high…vegas-057100_1098100_1136

Having a heart

14 01 2009

These past few days have been stressful and full of more fight b/w the BF and I.  Of course you can guess what, or rather who it is about.  I am not a cruel person, no matter how angry I might be and yesterday have devised a rather nice, and extremely fair plan, regarding the circumstances.

Phil has until January 31st to be gone.  Why the extended stay you ask?  I dont have the heart to throw someone into a homeless shelter with no money or anything.  Its only free for 3 days, after that, its $3/day.  He has until the end of the month to find a new job and work his butt off until the end of the month for as much money as he can make.  I am going to help him apply for food stamps, section 8 housing, the works.   This is IT!!  If he cannot find a job and get money so sorry for you, we extended your chance, take advantage of it!  Does this sound fair?  The same rules apply, no key to the house, be gone when we are not there, but hopefully he’d be working ALL THE TIME.  He is to help out MORE around the house with cleaning and I should never have to pick up after him, he is an adult now.  Since BF”s mom is coming in tomorrow night he has to suck up his pride and call the grandparents and ask if he can stay til tuesday morning (5 whole nights).  They might say no and then he will have to go to a shelter for 5 nights, maybe it will be a reality check again (as if jail was not enough, well it wasn’t, he got his same attitude 2 days after he got out).  I’m sure their rules will be worse than ours.

I had a long talk with Phil’s mom, Joey’s step mom about all this, and I think she’s happy that he’s going to be allowed a little longer to save some money.  She may not allow him in their house and is angry as well, but he is her son and she is scared too.  He’s taking the GED today, keep your fingers crossed!

On another note, I’m kind of shocked I have yet to pick up any new clients with the new year.  All my clients have people they said were going to come in or call me but does that happen?  Not all the time.  I’m putting ads up, passing out business cards here and there, etc.  good things come to those who wait?  I’m not stressing, things happen in time.  I have too many exciting things going on.  I have my friends and family to keep me up!

Thanks for listening…

Fancy Feet

10 01 2009

My friend just treated me to a pedicure yesterday.  We were supposed to go after my court in November but that took a little longer than expected.  I wanted to show everyone my pretty feet!  Thank you Indi!
