Straight or curly

15 09 2009

Either way, I can’t get there without my hair straightener.  My CHI has lasted me about 6-7 years now.  It’s dying, just like most people’s do.  I have to hold the cord a certain way for it to stay on, lengthening the time it takes me to straighten my hair.  My mom’s died, most people I talk to, it does the same thing.  My friend Angela at work told me about this website www.folica.com and it has awesome deals on hair products.  Her hair dresser used a brand called BaByliss pro titanium.  No ceremic plates, dial settings for heat, etc.  4 YEAR WARRANTY!  I ordered one today.  I tried it today b/c she brought it in, let me just say…amazing and half the time.  The CHI does not compare to this!  I can’t wait to get it in and see it in more action!  LOL.  Take a looksy:

Well I can’t get it to post on this computer.  Folica.com and look up BaByliss.  Think more before you buy!

Shopping for work/Body Pump and other launches

2 08 2009

Now that I’m working at the YMCA, I need to present myself to other people and attend meeting and look…well, professional.  That means no more workout clothes to work!  I think I have quite a base at home, but needed some new additions.  I think I did very well with what I have shopped for this weekend.  Here is what I have acquired:

1 pair dressier khaki capris with belt

1 pair of white capris with belt

1 black skirt with belt

short sleeved grey jacket

1 pair of brown casual/dress shoes

1 pair of white/grey snakeskin dress shoes

1 pink tank top

1 yellow henley short sleeved

1 white cardigan

1 hot pink/white scarf with fringe

1 light blue short sleeved belted top

1 purple/black plaid tie belted top

1 green blouse top

Grand total:  $217

Not bad in my book, and I’m stylin’ with the best of them.  AND I got $20 in Kohls cash to use next week!

Still learning my way around here, not that I did not know, but there are so many ways to get to so many places and its grown so much.  But I’m loving being here and loving my job, just missing Joey.  Time seems to go fast with all the projects I’m doing and have already done.

This past weekend we did a Les Mills Body Pump launch at our YMCA and had two launch classes that had full sign ups and full attendance.  Its an awesome choreographed workout to weights and great music.  We are starting these classes tomorrow at our location and all the others in the Greater San Antonio area as well.  I just have to keep things interesting and make people want to join our gym as well as help our community.  I’m doing a Pilates Reformer demo this saturday to try to bring more members into the pilates room and make a profit off of those beds.  We will see how well that goes too.

Time to read my book and relax for the night.  I hope to get to update once during the week.  If not, next weekend.

Summer has begun!

3 03 2009

I find it really funny that I got my first sunburn of the year and in some parts of the country there are snowstorms, and road closing, and power outages.

80′s from now on, almost 90 yesterday!  And yes, I love to rub that in.  I have to endure 3 months of hell weather for 9 months of beautiful, gorgeous, sunshine and outdoor living!  Joey and I went out riding on Sunday and I put sunscreen on….on my arms and face and neck, etc.  (SPF 30 for those wondering)  Not thinking a thing about my legs.  I was wearing capris, who would think?  So the bottom of my quads and the back of my calves are a little red.  But Grandpa Strasheim has the solution!

We went over to their house afterwards for some dinner (ham and beans and cornbread…to die for, literally.  I was full halfway through my first plate and still got seconds, I dont hold back with that stuff!) We cut some aloe leaves and I”ve been putting that on as well as pure aloe I’ve had from the store and its fading into a nice tan.  But now I look funny lol!  I love the healing powers of aloe!  I love Arizona!  I’m just in a really good mood today.  Picked about 50 oranges and 50 grapefruit from their house too.  We have citrus coming out the ears!

So coasting through the week, doing things to the trailer and house cleaning as usual.  Waiting until sunday…SUNDAY=FUNDAY!

Sleeping Beauty will feel cleansed soon

29 01 2009

I do not know what the deal is but I have been tired this week.  Last night I slept 9 hours, and I got up and worked out and trained and then came home and crashed for 2 more hours.  I took a nap yesterday too after sleeping 9 hours at night.  My body is hungry for carbs, not craving, hungry.  I HATE THAT!  Maybe its destressing and refueling for life.  I’ve been eating healthy, drinking lots of water, I dont have much caffeine as it is and of course sleeping.  Maybe its my body’s way of fighting off a cold.  Who knows, but starting Monday things will change.

My bf Jeni at Enjoyer of the Journey called me and asked me if I’d like to do a little challenge with her called “The Master Cleanse.”  I bought the book, “Lose weight, have more energy, and be happier in 10 days” by Peter Glickman and read it cover to cover in one day to try to learn what was really going to go down (or come out, in our case).  So this 10 day cleanse will begin on Monday and we will be detoxing our bodies during that time.  I’m sure many of you  know that “gunk’ piles up in your intenstines and colon over the years and your physical and mental health goes down over the years.  Well, we are pushing that all out, detoxing our bodies, and restarting our bodies over again!  We will both be blogging about our experiences so please stay tuned.  Both excited and scared to see what is going to happen but we should feel great a few days in and beyond!  For more info check out The Master Cleanse Web Site.  Some results I hope to achieve with this detox:

1) No longer feeling sluggish or tired

2) No more knee pain without having to take supplements

3) The ability to resist eating so called “bad foods” and making my body crave good things

4) Less daily stress over unimportant things

So stay tuned folks and Monday February 2, 2009, the journey begins!

Fancy Feet

10 01 2009

My friend just treated me to a pedicure yesterday.  We were supposed to go after my court in November but that took a little longer than expected.  I wanted to show everyone my pretty feet!  Thank you Indi!

Smooth like a baby’s bottom

10 01 2009

I was going through all my products last month (and yes, as a girl I have a ton) and I decided I needed to refresh my skincare routine.  I used to sell Arbonne, but am down to just one or two of the products left.  I was contemplating using the Clinique skincare line b/c I have heard great things, but the cost of maintaining using those products would be pricey.  So with my Christmas money I hopped in my car and took a drive down to one of my favorite stores, ULTA.  It has anything from skincare, haircare, makeup, etc.  Basically its a girls best friend store.  So I wandered for probably and hour and put together quite the concoction.

My goals are to keep my skin at the perfect hydration level while also preventing as much aging as possible.  My theory is if I start young, I’ll look young longer (hey, I got carded today for buying beer b/c the guy thought I was younger than 21).

Maybe its the combination of the products and the location where I live, but what I have put together has never made my skin so soft and perfectly hydrated.  I can feel my skin improving for a smaller budget!  Who could ask for more right?  So, because I like to share my finds, I am sharing my new routine with you.

For my skin cleanser I kept it cheap.  I used St. Ives Olive cleanser.  It has olive oil, olive leaf extract and sunflower oil and cleans my skin like none other.  Takes makeup off extremely well.

My eye cream is Olay Regenerist Eye lifting Serum.  I’ve read lots of studies reporting serums are better for wrinkles than creams.  I agree fully!

My day cream is Oil of Olay age defying anti-wrinkle daily lotion spf 15.  I need moisture here in AZ, I mean, its back in the 70′s already with no humidity.

Night cream, let me state right now, AMAZING!  Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturing Treatment.  The smell puts you to sleep and it feels as if you had a facelift overnight every morning you wake up.

And that’s it.  I didn’t want to make things too complicated and spend tons of money rebuying products left and right.  I highly recommend any of these products, especially the face wash!  Save your money.  You’ve seen the commercial for Oil of Olay regenerist night cream, it hydrates and prevents wrinkles just as well as the European one that costs $300.  But you don’t have to take my word for it…
