Oh the mountains you will climb

superstition-018Hiked a new mountain yesterday with my cousin, adding to our conquest while still training for our grand canyon hike.  Superstition Mountains, Siphon Draw trail.  3 miles up, 3 miles down.  Seems easy right?  Wrong!  Hardest hike I have ever done.  Took 5 hours, that included a 45 minute rest on top.  There were times Iwas actually scared and did not know where to step next.  On the way down, I twisted my ankle on this one spot and slid a little, scraped my arm and ankle, first accident but not too bad thankfully!  The elevation at the top was 4,861ft!  The highest I’ve ever hiked.  But boy was it beautiful.

View from bottom: See that little peak to the right hiding in the clouds?  That is flatiron where we sat on top
